Investors Bank Makes Donation to Great Irish Fair of New York
On Friday, Irish American Building Society Board Members Thomas Flood, Mary Glynn, and Kieran McGirl were presented with a check from Investors Bank in the amount of $25,000.00 to help continue the mission of the Great Irish Fair and it’s commitment to funding Catholic Education.
Representatives from Investors Bank were Jennifer Smith, Michael Macintyre, and last years Great Irish Fair Chief Brehon honoree Kevin Cummings, CEO Investors Bank.
The check was presented to the Irish American Building Society at the New York City Irish Hunger Memorial. The memorial was constructed in order to raise awareness to the famine in Ireland between 1845 and 1852 (when more than one-and-a-half million people died), this gorgeous outdoor garden sits on more than a half-acre of land. Famine statistics, quotes and poems are displayed on an extensive surrounding wall, and inside the garden, there are more than 60 types of flora from Ireland, a recreated 19th-century Irish cottage and rocks from all of the country’s 32 counties.
The mission of the Irish American Building Society (IABS) is to develop and foster business, cultural, educational and charitable activities, and maintain continuous exchange of information among our members. IABS strives towards a setting that promotes friendship, encourages cooperation and mutual development on both a personal and professional level, and fosters education through our scholarship program. The organization seeks to expand business opportunities within our membership and to aid each member in achieving their own career or personal objectives. We aim to benefit our membership and our community, both locally and globally. Together, we hope to recognize and remember all the good work and effort – particularly in the realm of the building, real estate and construction trades – that the Irish American and Irish community has historically provided to the United States of America and the world.
The Irish American Building Society is grateful for the continued support from Investors Bank.
